For now we’ve only seen their new version of the Shadowlands. We don’t know much about the pantheon of life in the context of WoW’s new revamped cosmology, but I’m sure when they want to explore that we’ll get the lore for it. So there’s some weirdness and murkiness that’s introduced as part of that. Since those early days where lots of things were just Metzen & Samwise’s metal versions of stuff lifted from D&D and Warhammer, WoW has developed its own cosmology with the 6 cosmic forces.Īs we can now see with all the titan retcons and reveals, a lot of old stuff is now being ascribed to the 6 cosmic forces in ways that they weren’t originally meant to. See the mount quest in the DK starting area. Worth noting that the ideas for the Emerald Dream and Shadowlands were lifted from the Feywild and Shadowfell from Dungeons and Dragons.īefore the expansion, the Shadowlands seemed to be a lot more like the Emerald Dream or the Shadowfell, a dark mirror version of the real world. If Sargeras as a being of order could become a being of disorder (or arcane to fel), could a titan willingly go to the plane of life or death and rule from there instead of reality? I feel like the Primus with his runes of control is acting more like a being of order than of death. What if the pantheon of death would build and change things in reality like the titans and what if the titans had their own tiny land with robots and pillars? It feels like there are these gods with control over their forces/planes, one group is building their own world where only them rule over everything (so no titans in the shadowlands) and another group is building in reality (the titans). Maybe that is what the Zovaal did not like. It's a bit weird the others don't have such a place and is it not wrong the emerald dream and the shadowlands exist in general? It's as if the six forces spread evenly through the reality but two of them manifest at two points, so there is a lack of them in reality. It's difficult to say if the six forces are concepts and planes but no places and shadowlands/emerald dream are unique as they are also a place. If the Broker can move freely through the shadowlands, they are independent of the arbiter and the pantheon of death? While we've seen a lot of wild gods and Loa in the reality of Azeroth, did we met such beings of death? Okay there're also Loa but every group of animal has a wild god or loa but in death, there is nothing? I'm thinking like wild gods and loa as demi-gods and the pantheon of death as gods, who are the gods of the emerald dream, are both gods also the gods of life/death or only of their sub-plane and what are demi-gods of death? If the different houses in Maldraxxus were independent and would do things on azeroth. The emerald dream is also bigger than what've seen, so let's say both lands are comparable in size. But are they? Or rather rulers of the shadowlands? And the SL have their own pantheon of death. In the SL we have different areas and it's stated there are even more and what we've seen is only a part. I was looking at those cosmological maps and i assume everything in balance and so on.
